Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before starting your fitness journey with SW Fitness UK. If you can't find what you're looking for, just reach out.

Getting Started

Not at all. We work with clients at every level — from complete beginners returning to exercise after years, to experienced athletes looking to push further. Your programme is built entirely around your current ability and goals.

We sit down (or speak on the phone) to discuss your goals, medical history, lifestyle and any injuries. We'll then outline how we can help and recommend the best service for you. There's no pressure to sign up — it's simply a chance to see if we're the right fit.

Take our quick 'Find Your Service' quiz on the website, or book a free consultation and we'll guide you. Whether you need injury rehab, strength training, flexibility work or a mix, we'll point you in the right direction.

Sessions & Training

Most one-to-one and small-group sessions take place at our private studio in Tarporley, Cheshire. We also offer online coaching programmes for clients who prefer to train remotely or travel frequently.

Personal training and rehabilitation sessions are typically 60 minutes. Yoga and Pilates classes vary — check the schedule for specific class durations. We also offer 30-minute express sessions for busy schedules.

Comfortable workout clothing, trainers with good support, a water bottle and a small towel. If you have any relevant medical notes or previous injury reports, bring those along too.

Yes — we offer partner training and small-group sessions (up to 4 people) for personal training and Pilates. It's a great way to stay motivated and share the cost. Contact us for group pricing.

Injuries & Rehabilitation

Absolutely. Injury rehabilitation is one of our core specialities. Steve is a Level 4 qualified Sports Massage Therapist and has extensive experience working with post-surgical clients, sports injuries and chronic conditions. We always work within the scope of any medical advice you've already received.

For general personal training, no. If you're recovering from surgery or have a complex medical condition, we may ask for clearance from your GP or consultant before beginning — this is for your safety and to ensure we design the right programme.

Sports massage is a clinical, targeted therapy focused on soft-tissue dysfunction, injury prevention and recovery. It involves deeper pressure, specific techniques to release tension in muscles and fascia, and an assessment of movement patterns. It's not relaxation-focused — though many clients do feel relief afterwards.

Pricing & Packages

Pricing varies by service and package length. We offer single sessions, block bookings (which bring the per-session cost down), and monthly memberships for classes. The best way to get accurate pricing is to book a free consultation or contact us directly — we'll tailor a package to your needs and budget.

No long-term contracts. Block bookings are paid upfront for the sessions you commit to, and monthly memberships can be cancelled with 30 days' notice. We believe in earning your business session by session.
